The continued growth and ambition of FM+ was rewarded at a major business awards ceremony in which it was named the Medium/Large Business of the Year for 2016.
The Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards, which are organised and presented by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce, saw representatives from leading businesses across Yorkshire attend a glittering ceremony at a packed Bridlington Spa.
The awards, which have been running for more than 10 years and are renowned for giving local businesses the chance to be recognised for their achievements, also saw awards presented including the Start-Up Business of the Year, Small Business, Young Businessperson, Retail Business and Green Business of the Year.
James Needler, managing director of FM+, the overall brand under which companies including Contract Flooring Interiors (CFI) and Green Commercial Cleaning operate, said it was an honour to have claimed what many regard as the biggest prize of the night.
"When you attend an event like this and see all the fantastic businesses under one roof, and the wonderful companies you up against in your own category to claim a prize, you feel honoured to be in the building and to have made it onto the final shortlists. I know we certainly did.
"It was obviously wonderful to be named the winner, and credit goes to all of our staff, in all areas of the business, who have contributed to this success through their dedication to providing the very best facilities management services for our many customers.
"We also have to thank our customers, many of whom we have had for many years. Their continued support has helped us cement a reputation for quality customer service, which is helping us to grow and further develop.
"The next step for us now is to move into our new headquarters which are nearing completion, which marks the start of more exciting times ahead."
In selecting the finalists for the award, judges were looking for companies which could demonstrate solid sales performance and growth prospects, productivity development, product development and the use of technology, quality standards and monitoring, investment in people and equipment and environmental awareness.
FM+ is also a finalist in the Large Business of the Year category of the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards, which will be held in November.
